The Grain Elevators in Nanton

A photograph of the wooden Pioneer grain elevators in the prairie town of Nanton, Alberta, Canada. There are three grain elevators in this photograph: one painted orange with a yellow roof and two identical grain elevators painted green.

These vibrantly colourful Pioneer grain elevators in the town of Nanton, Alberta, were slated for destruction in 2001, but were saved by the perseverance of some organized townspeople. The elevators are now preserved as a heritage museum, were recently renovated with fresh paint, and are open for tours during the summer.
